Lady Cardinals clinch district title

SHINER — Shiner St. Paul took down Universal City First Baptist Academy to claim the TAPPS District 5-2A title, winning in three sets, (25-10, 25-11, 25-13).

Stats include: Parker Clay - four kills, two solo blocks, one block assist; Scarlett Crawford - one kill, four digs, one ace; Sydney Grabarkievtz - one kill, three digs, one ace; Emma Hull - six digs; Grace Irvin six kills, one solo block, two digs; Kayla Kubenka - two kills, one block assist; Kayla Malatek - three digs, two aces; Gracey Novosad - six kills, four digs, one ace; Delynn Pesek - seven kills, three digs, one ace; Ashley Wachsmuth - one kill, two digs; Christine Wagner - one kill, 25 assists, seven digs, six aces.

The Lady Cardinals have a bye for the first week of playoffs, but have a non-district game on Tuesday against Round Rock Christian, a TAPPS 3A team on top of their respective district. Game time is 6 p.m.
