Lady Cardinals reach state tournament

The Shiner Lady Cardinals reached the state tournament yet again, this time in girls’ basketball, as they took down Austin Waldorf 41-27. Delynn Pesek led the team in scoring with 12 points, adding seven rebounds and two assists to the stat sheet. Gracey Novosad had 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and three steals. Parker Clay added seven points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals. Shiner St. Paul will play in Waco this weekend, opening with a state semifinal matchup against The Woodlands Legacy Prep Christian. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2. The winner will face the winner between Read Oak Ovilla Christian and Lubbock Southcrest Christian. The TAPPS 2A girls’ basketball final will take place on Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m.
