NIXON — Two men were arrested and another remains at large after police said they broke into a residence and fired gunshots.

At 10 p.m. Aug. 2, Officer Terrell Hatcher was dispatched to the 600 block of 6th St. in reference to a report of shots fired, Police Chief Floyd Toliver reported. Upon arrival Hatcher spoke with the victim, who said three men had broken into the residence which he was house sitting and that one of them fired a gun. The man said the burglars had become angry when they found out the items they intended to steal weren’t in the home, and decided to fire the weapon.

The men were identified as Leonardo Zamora, 35, of Nixon, Leonard Boatright, 35, of Nixon and Devin Ruben Hernandez, 32, of Seguin.

“All three fled the scene, and warrants were issued for their arrest,” Toliver said.

On Aug. 21, Zamora and Boatright were arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation to commit a felony and taken to Gonzales County Jail. Hernandez remains at large, Toliver said.
