Local Sales tax revenues show some increase, Waelder jumps by double

AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $679.9 million in local sales tax allocations for July, this allocation is nine percent more than in July 2016. 

Gonzales County received an allocation of $172,625, for a year-to-date (YTD) total of $1,262,775.31. In July of 2016 the county received $111,238.09. In July of 2015 the allocation was $186,085.40.

The City of Gonzales received a small increase in its monthly allocation. This month the city received an allotment of $191,747.16, for a YTD total of $1,286,528.81. In July of 2016 the city received a little less, at $177,677.02. In July of 2015 the city received $216,754.03.

The City of Nixon was allocated $23,754.50 this month, for a YTD total of $157,012.62. This allocation is a small decrease from the disbursement in July of 2016 when Nixon received an allocation of $24,165.38. In July of 2015 Nixon received $52,609.11.

The City of Smily received a July allocation of $1,154.51. This is less than half of the July 2016 allocation of $2,720.21. In July of 2015 the city received $2,740.95.

The City of Waelder received an allotment this month of $10,534.90, for a YTD total of $30,600.23. In July of 2016 Waelder received less than half of that with a 2016 allotment of $5,410.18. In July of 2015 Waelder received an allotment of $2,895.90.

These allocations are based on sales made in May by businesses that report tax monthly.
