Man arrested for drugs, gun in his home

At approximately 9:50 p.m., on Thursday, December 21, Officers with Gonzales Police Department arrived at a private residence in the 100 block of Smith Street. According to Gonzales Police Captain Allen Taylor, the officers were at the residence in an effort to locate a subject. The subject of the officer's search was not found at the residence; however, drugs were.
Officers observed narcotics in the home and obtained a search warrant for the residence. GPD's subsequent search of the residence turned up marijuana and an illegal firearm, resulting in the arrest of Brendon Hastings, 18, of Gonzales. Hastings was arrested on the scene and charged with possession of marijuana and prohibited weapon.

Man flees police by vehicle, on foot

At approximately 8:45 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 20, Gonzales police officers attempted to make a routine traffic stop for a traffic violation at the intersection of Dunning Street and Luling Street.
According to Gonzales Police Captain Allen Taylor, the driver in question, Raymond Alvarez, refused to stop his vehicle.
After traveling several blocks Alvarez brought the vehicle to a stop, in the 1000 block of Stieren Road. Taylor said at this point Alvarez fled from the vehicle on foot.
Officers pursued Alvarez and he was located, hiding behind a vehicle, at the 2400 block of Church Street.
Taylor advises Alvarez, 44, of Gonzales was arrested and charged with evading with a motor vehicle, as well as evading by foot.
According to Taylor, the passenger, Anrico Galvan, 26, of Gonzales was found in possession of marijuana, in the 1800 block of Luling Street, at which point he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
