Margarito Rosas, 64, of Waelder, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 27 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Friday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder, Texas with Father Paul Raaz officiating. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 2 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be on Saturday, June 3 at Waelder Community Cemetery in Waelder, Texas with Deacon Alfonso Moreno officiating.

Margarito was born on June 15, 1952 in Dolores Hidalgo, GTO, Mexico. He was the son of Cesario Rosas and Isabel Aredondo. Margarito came to the United States when he was 13 years old. He worked in construction and ranching. He liked to ride around in his pick-up checking on the cattle. He enjoyed his work and the family says it was one of his hobbies. He also helped others with their construction projects. He liked traveling to Mexico and Honduras. He and Maria Valdez have been together since 1987.

Margarito is survived by Maria Valdez of the home, nine sons; Margarito Rosas Jr. and his wife, Martha Elizabeth of Mexico, Pedro Rosas and his wife, Elizabeth of Gonzales, Texas, Hector Rosas and his wife, Esmeralda of Mexico, Martin Rosas and his wife, Rachel of Mexico, Juan Rodrigues and his wife, Tabitha of Honolulu, Hawaii, Francisco Rosas of Gonzales, Texas, Ricardo Valdez and his fiancé, Esmeralda of Waelder, Texas, Emiliano Rosas of Waelder, Texas, Daniel Rosas of Waelder, Texas, five daughters; Audelia Rosas and her husband, Sacramento Rangel of Mexico, Lorena Rosas and her husband, Luis Mejia of Mexico, Alicia Rosas of Mexico, Erica Valdez and her husband, Mario Castillo of Houston, Texas, Martha Rosas and her husband, Armando Rodriguez of Waelder, Texas, three brothers; Lorenzo Rosas and his wife, Carmen of Gonzales, Texas, Primotivo Rosas and his wife, Elvia of Waco, Texas, Adolfo Rosas and his wife, Rosario of Waco, Texas, one sister; Esperanza Rosas and her husband, Elauterio Perez of Mexico, 30 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Cesario Rosas and Isabel Aredondo, one brother; Atanacio Rosas, and one sister; Marie Dejesus Rosas.
