Marie Bond Scoggins

Marie Bond Scoggins, 85, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14. She was born Jan. 29, 1932 in Catarina, Texas, the daughter of Virgil Otto Bond and Grace Branham Bond. She married William Ansel Scoggins Jr. on June 27, 1952 in Yoakum, TX.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly Caraway and husband Kim of Gonzales; grandsons Bret Hill and wife Stephanie and Blaine Hill all of Gonzales; great-grandchildren Jaxon Hill, Emery Hill and Elliot Hill; sisters Dorothy DeBerry of Gonzales and Ruby Marrou of Round Rock; brother Jack Bond of Pleasanton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Dell Bond and brother Norman Pete Bond. Visitation was held from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Clint Lowery officiating. Pallbearers include Joe Bond, Mark Bond, Lane Marrou, Kevin DeBerry, Barry Wolf and Scott Van Winkle. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
