Martin Molina San Miguel, 77, of Gonzales, passed away surrounded by his loving family Wednesday Dec. 13. He was born in Gonzales, Texas on July 26, 1940, to Nestor San Miguel and Martha Molina San Miguel. Martin married the love of his life Elisa “Elsie” Contreras on June 2, 1959.

Martin was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A truck driver most of his life, Martin worked for Harrell Cattle, Tyson Foods and retired from Plantation Farms in 1996. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his cherished family and drinking coffee with his friends at Tiger Tote.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents Nestor and Martha San Miguel. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elisa “Elsie” San Miguel; sons, Martin San Miguel and wife Rita, Michael San Miguel and wife Erica and Mark San Miguel all of Gonzales; sisters, Juana Vega and Betty Nesbitt; 11 grandchildren, Steven San Miguel, Lisa San Miguel, Lucy Botello, Joe Maldonado, Michael San Miguel II, Melissa Cuevas, Matthew San Miguel, Mary San Miguel, Elijah Garza, Noah Garza, Delilah Martinez; 11 great grandchildren, Jason Navejar, Christopher Rodriguez, Joseph Botello, Ryan Botello, Sophia Botello, Janiya Sepulveda, Jadus Sepulveda, Jordan Malonado, Kierstin Maldonado, Jesus Maldonado and Gavin Navarro.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. and a mass following at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services are under the care and direction of Harris Funeral Home.
