Mary Elizabeth Etheridge passed away peacefully on Feb. 15. She was born on Jan. 20, 1938 to William "Bill" Huber and Lucille Alex Huber in Ottine, Texas. She married Billy George Etheridge on Jan. 21, 1956, the day after her 18th birthday. They were married 34 years before his passing on Jan. 18, 1990. Together they had two daughters, Julie Lynn and Terri Elaine.

Anyone who knew Mary knew she loved to bowl. Some of her fondest memories were traveling to state and national bowling tournaments with her favorite bowling buddies. She was City bowling champion several years and National Champion in her division as well. She met some of her best friends bowling who became like family to her. When she wasn't bowling, she made the best hamburgers when she worked there as well. She also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles or watching her favorite tv shows from QVC to Walker Texas Ranger.

"Meme" as she was affectionately called by many, was also an amazing cook. Her spaghetti, fried chicken, pineapple pie, coconut pie, and chocolate cake were a few of her most requested recipes. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She always cooked for an army, as her house was typically full of her children's friends and later her grandchildren's friends. Everyone she met, she made them feel like family. She called everyone "Baby" or "Sugar." She loved catching up with people at the grocery store, library, and plumbing shop. She always asked about their family and genuinely cared about them all.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy, her brothers, David Huber and Billy Huber, as well as her special cousin, Emily Neuse.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughters, Julie Andreolli and husband Art; Terri Tresner and husband Wayne, all of Luling. Four grandchildren, Bryan Lee Bennett, who always called her "Lou", of Jamestown, North Dakota, Erin Nicole Etheridge of Luling, William Patrick and Jonathon Brice Andreolli of Converse, and one great grandson, Caleb Brayden Andreolli of San Antonio; her brothers, Danny Huber and wife Beverly of El Reno, Oklahoma, Tommy Huber and wife Sandy of Gonzales, and her baby sister, Elaine Huber of Luling who affectionately called her "Moochie." She is also survived by her best friend since 1st grade, Kate Bairrington and her husband Bair. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
