Matilde Jose “Matt” Jimenez

Matilde Jose “Matt” Jimenez, 48, of Gonzales, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Thursday, September 3, 2020. He was born June 3, 1972 in San Louis Potosi, Mexico to Casimiro Jimenez and Carlotta Cruz. Matt married Olivia Marie Hildalgo on May 2, 2020 in Gonzales.

Matt will be remembered by all who knew him as a dedicated and hard worker. He never knew what taking a “day-off” meant. If he was not at work as an operator for Ranger Energy Services, he was working on projects at home. Matt was always willing to drop what he was doing to help others in need.  Having grown up in the rural area of San Louis Potosi, Matt knew well the hardships of providing for a family. He moved to Texas and worked hard to provide for himself and his family. He lived an example of hard work for his children to follow. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his beloved wife and children.

Matilde Jose “Matt” Jimenez is survived by his wife, Olivia Marie Jimenez of Gonzales, father, Casimiro Jimenez of Monterrey, daughters, Karen Abigail Jimenez, Isabel Jimenez both of Gonzales, Felicity Kiersten Lewis (Marvin) of Colorado Springs, sons, Jose Alejandro Jimenez (Sarah Trigo) of Nixon, Victor Eduardo Jimenez (Myra Granados) of Gonzales, Matthew Jimenez, Jr., of San Antonio, grandchildren, Marvin Lewis, Jr., Noah Jimenez, and Greyson Jimenez, sisters, Antonia Jimenez Crus (Pedro,) Hilaria Jimenez Cruz (Abelardo,) Orfelinda Jimenez Cruz (Julio,) Cristina Jimenez Cruz (Virgilio,) Ma Lourdes Jimenez Cruz (Roman,) Esmerelda Jimenez Cruz (Omar,) brothers, Samuel Jimenez Cruz (Paulina,) and Ramiro Jimenez Cruz (Claudia,)  all of Monterrey.  He was preceded in death by his mother.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening, September 4, 2020 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary following at 7 p.m.  Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 in St. James Cemetery with Fr. Jason Martini officiating.  Pallbearers are; Samuel, Ramiro, Victor and Jose Jimenez, Eddie Castillo and Eddie Castillo, Jr.   Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
