Monthly sales tax revenue distributed

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $660.4 million in local sales tax allocations for October. This is 1.6 percent more than allocations in October 2016.

Gonzales County is set to receive $136,939.85 in October allocations, for a year-to-date (YTD) total of $1,777,537.49. At this same time in 2016 the county received $312,433.80 in allocations. In 2015 the allocation was $181,004.79.

The City of Gonzales is also set to get an allocation. The city's cut will be $200,695.37, for a YTD of $1,902,127.74. In this same period in 2016 the city received $63,112.09 in sales tax revenue allocations. In 2015 the city's allocation was $213,701.08.

The City of Nixon will receive $21,503.29 in sales tax allocations, for a YTD of $222,257.19. In the same period last year Nixon received $21,473.34. In 2015 the city got $25,071.73 in October allocations.

Smiley will receive $975.75, for a YTD total of 16,875.50. In October of 2016 the city's sales tax revenue allocation was $3,763.73. In the same period in 2015 the allocation was $2,178.52.

Waelder's October allocation will be $6,725.80. In October of 2016 the city received $3,418.89. In the previous year the city received $3,285.28.

These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.
