Andrea Seger, co-owner of local boutique Angels and Outlaws, introduced herself as the newest member of the board.
B. Wells Operations Manager Anne Dollery announced the park’s Expo Center is booked through May 16.
No Main Street report was given. Main Street Administrator Barbara Friedrich was unable to attend the GCVB meeting because of prior entanglements.
Tourism Director Ashley Simper listed several Tour Gonzales initiatives which included rebranding, tracking hotel performance and exposure and cultivating relationships with the city and its tourism partners.
Financial reports were accepted as is.
Simper addressed the J.B. Wells Expo upgrades she pitched to city council on Jan. 9.
The board discussed four concepts for a new Tour Gonzales logo.
Gonzales Emergency Service District
No public comments were given.
Gonzales County Judge Pat Davis administered the oath of office to present members of the board: Linda Carter, Donald Rihn and Commie Hisey.
No changes were made to the composition of the board.
Minutes from the Dec. 19 meeting were approved.
Financial statements were read, and bills were paid.
The Gonzales County EMS and Rescue report was read.
ESD Executive Director Eddie Callender Jr. announced the ESD/EMS merger deadline will be pushed back to April 1. Callender Jr. said issues with the state’s compliance office caused the delay.
Smiley City Council
No public comments were given.
Minutes from the Nov. 25 and Dec. 19 meeting were approved.
Bills and financial statements were approved.
The municipal court, marshal and fire department reports were read and accepted.
The council approved the city of Smiley general election for May 2, 2020. On the ballot are the mayor and two council seats.
