Nixon-Smiley announces post-season awards

The Lady Mustangs took a leap in the district standings this season, improving to a 9-3 record in District 27-3A. Nixon-Smiley tied for second with Poth while Goliad took was top dog with their 12-0 record.

Multiple players were honorably named as District 27-3A released their all-district teams.

Celeste Arriaga was named the offensive MVP while Tyhana Mejia was named to the first team. Christy Perez was named to the second team while Lilibet Torres, Maggie Mendez and Miranda Torres were all honorably mentioned.

Arriaga was also named to the Region IV-3A “All Region Team.”
