According to COVID-19 data received by Gonzales County Judge Patrick C. Davis from the Department of State Health Services, only one new case of coronavirus was reported on Tuesday.

The new case brings the total number of active cases within the county of 21,000 to 27. This number fluctuates based on the amount of time which has passed since positive cases were reported, as the DSHS has moved to a time-based estimate rather than monitor cases directly.

The total number of cases which have been traced to addresses in Gonzales County has risen to 703 with this latest addition.

As far as hospitalizations, the total number of hospitaliztions due to COVID-19 in Trauma Service Area P has fallen to a total of 856, with 541 being general beds and 304 being intensive care unit beds.

Since June 3, the wearing of masks in most public places has been mandatory, with the order being strenghtened to include provisions for counties with twenty or greater cases on Juny 2.
