Pamela Sue Miller Kidd

Posted

On Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, Pamela Sue Miller Kidd, 65, went home to be with our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Born Jan. 28, 1954, Pam, was the second daughter of Marie Miller and Charles “Chuck” Miller. Her siblings being Debra Hees and Melanie Robbins. Her brother, William “Bubba” Miller, passed in 1981.

Pam was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Jerry Kidd and their son, Brandon Kidd, brother Bubba Miller and parents Marie Miller, and Chuck Miller and her special kitty, Spur.

Pam was involved in many activities and organizations within the community, over the years. She had a servant’s heart. Some might say she was the queen of hospitality, always helping others. In fact, she was the Luling Watermelon Thump Queen in 1972 and continued to represent her community as a Thump Queen by helping organize the Queen’s Tea and candidates’ race. In 1998 Pam attended her first Walk to Emmaus and continued to help during future walks. She loved to cook, and often did for an army of people, having people around, visiting with her family and friends, and painting made her happiest. She was her kids’ and grandkids’ biggest cheerleader. She was known as “MeMe” by many.  Pam was involved in PTA, cheer sponsor, the Luling Oil Museum, served as a Watermelon Thump director and organized the Queen’s Coronation as well as the president of the Texas Art League.

She loved to watch her grandkids play sports and spend time with her family. Sunday dinner was a standing invitation each week and everyone gathered in her kitchen to fellowship and eat some down home cooking. Many holidays were spent in the Kidd house with people from all over. Some of the family’s favorite dishes were chicken and red sauce, chicken salad and Pam’s ever so famous roast. Pam was truly a gracious and generous host.

Pam is survived by her two loving daughters, Monica Knox and her husband Keith, Amanda Kidd, and an honorary daughter Annie Colvin and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Lexi and Kaleb Knox, Tristan and Devin Hester and Kendall Cox, honorary grandchildren Sophie and Blaine Colvin, Christy Day and Chynna Pitzer; Sisters Melanie Robbins and husband Randolph, Debbie Hees and husband Aaron; nieces Raven Robbins and Kristin Williams, nephew Kallen Kidd; great nephew Rhett Zumwalt and great niece Emma Knox; the Patterson kids, lifelong special friend Lola Dunagan, numerous friends and extended family, the family beloved and protective Pomeranian, Bella.
