Raymond Conroy Mercer, 54, of Gonzales passed away Sunday, May 30, 2016. He was born February 24, 1962 in Houston, the son of Raymond D. and Helen Molnoskey Mercer.

He attended Gonzales public schools and was a 1980 graduate of Gonzales High School. He had many occupational talents including carpentry, roofing, painting, oilfield and yard work. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing cards, scratching lottery tickets, watching TV and spending time with his nephew Ben and brother Marland and family. He was a friendly person who enjoyed getting together with family and friends assisting with barbeques and having a good time. He will be greatly missed by all the family and his friends.

He is survived by his brother Marland Mercer and wife Jan of Gonzales; nephews and nieces Ben Mercer, Sarah Reinier and husband Chip, Rayce Wurz and wife Sara, Rayeder Massie and husband Brian; great-nieces and nephews Ryder, A’Lora, Kaeden, Kayelynn, Maddison, Brenley, Rayegan, Brayden and Brooklyn; God Parents Daniel and Agnes Jasek and special aunt Adeline Molnoskey. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Landtry Mark Mercer, grandparents John and Tracie Molnoskey and Raymond and Viola Mercer.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31 with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include Rayce Wurz, Buddy Respondek, Steve Starnes, Jason Starnes, Ryder Hall, Chip Reinier and Brian Massie.

The family wishes to thank all who prayed for Raymond Conroy and family and for the phone calls, visits, cards, support and other acts of kindness during the long difficult time. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, 906 St. Paul, Gonzales.
