Regina Frieda “Jeannie” Majefski

Regina Frieda “Jeannie” Majefski, 91, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, July 4. Jeannie was born September 25, 1925 in Lavaca County to Frank and Regina Danish Hanzelka. Jeannie married Henry Alexander Majefski on April 17, 1950 at St. James Catholic Church in Gonzales.

Jeannie grew up on the family farm in Bebe. Along with raising chickens, cows for milking and horses, the family grew cotton and corn in their fields. Jeannie was well versed in picking cotton, shucking corn and tending to the animals on the farm. She kept herself busy as a homemaker, caring for the needs of her husband and family, keeping house and working in her yard. Jeannie was a good neighbor and enjoyed having the neighbor kids over to play with her own. She was an honest and loving lady who was devoted to her faith.

Jeannie is survived by her son, Daniel “Danny” Majefski of Gonzales and her daughter, Danna Kay Majefski of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant son, Henry Majefski, Jr., sister, Carries Neuse and her brothers, Joe, John and Charlie Hanzelka.

Graveside services were held privately in St. James Cemetery with Fr. Paul Raaz officiating. Memorials may be made to the religious or charitable organization one’s choice. Services were under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
