Report shows Gonzales County reporting four more cases Friday

In the Friday report on COVID-19 cases in Gonzales County, four more cases are shown to have been reported, bringing the number of active cases to 88.

The total number of cases, including those that are active and recovered, as well as those which have resulted in death, is 337.

Other updates included in the epidemiology report from the Texas Department of State Health Services for Region 8 show the top two causes of new cases are close contact (28%) and Community spread (31%). 1610 new cases were reported last week across the region, with cases reported to Regional Health and Medical Operations Centers showing a concentration of cases in people aged 20-29, followed by 30-39 and 40-49.

The region’s total case count of people including those who have active cases of COVID-19, those who have recovered, and those who have perished has risen to 27,454. Statewide, it has risen to 261,850.
