Richard Lynn Kincaid, 72, of Victoria, passed away Dec. 17. Richard was born June 20, 1945 in Gonzales, TX to Dorothy Elizabeth Hill Kincaid and the late Ray Harper Kincaid. Richard worked as a store manager for an oilfield supply store for many years until the oilfield declined in the 80s. Richard then started working for the Victoria County Sheriff’s Department in 1988 as a dispatcher and then as a detention officer in the courts units, then became a patrol officer, worked in drug interdiction, became a Sergeant in 1995, advanced to the Lieutenant of Patrol and retired as Captain of Operations.

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Lynn Crozier Kincaid; daughter, Teresa Stines (Chris) of Victoria; sons, Kyle Kincaid (Holly) of Victoria, Layton Kincaid (Ingrid) of Kerrville; sister, Danna Kincaid of Gonzales; brothers, Don Kincaid (Lisa) of Virginia, James Kincaid (Phyllis) of Oklahoma, Mark Kincaid (Dwana) of Gonzales; grandchildren, Tera, Kora, Seth and Ella LaRue Stines, Alexis and Bayliss Kincaid and Jaxson, Adelyn and Lani Kincaid. Richard also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his brother and sister-in-laws, Kennth and Barbara Bludau and Dan and Tammy Crozier to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 21, from 9-10:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be Thursday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. at Waelder Cemetery in Waelder, TX.

Pallbearers are Rex Mayes, Roy Compean, Jimmy Callaway, Dan Crozier, Chris Stines, Don Bolton and Kenneth Bludau.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
