"Rick" Robert Elliot Bivins

"Rick" Robert Elliot Bivins, 71, of Borden, Texas passed away on Feb. 19, in Yoakum, TX.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1946 to Walter and Jewell (Husband) Bivins in Panama Canal Zone. On Aug. 12, 1989, he married Tualla Jordan.

He retired from Brenham Independent School District in 2009. Serving 26 years in education. He severed in US Marines for 19 years, reaching the rank of Major. Rick was a member of V.F.W., American Legion, and the Marines Corp. League.

He is survived by his wife, Tualla Bivins of Borden, TX; daughter, Leigh Montgomery and husband Levi of Spring Branch, TX; sons, Rick Bivins and wife Amie of Danbury, TX, and Garren Bivins and fiancée Breanne Machacek of Galveston, TX; nephew, Geoffrey Bivins and wife Carrie, their children Lillie and Jonathan of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Wesley Bivins, Austin Bivins, Quinnlie Bivins, Daniel Camarillo, Matthew Montgomery, Zachary Montgomery, and Jaxon Rick Bivins; and a great grandson, Sam Bivins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Bivins and Jewell (Husband) Carr, brothers, Walter Bivins Jr. and Donnie Witwiski.

Military memorial services will be held Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m. at his home place in Borden, Texas.
