Robert Kenneth Wright

Robert Kenneth Wright, 83, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016. He was born Feb. 14, 1933 in Bigfoot, Texas, the son of Zilman and Ella Mae Rogers Wright.

He served with the U.S. Navy in Korea. He married Cecilia Hanzlik on Sept. 3, 1955. He worked as a supervisor for Pat Baker Co., Conoco and the Red Adair companies.

Robert loved John Wayne movies, hunting, fishing and horses. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Snake’s Garage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Lee Wright; sister, Gladys Faye Wilson; and infant brother, Barney Wright. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cecilia Wright; son, Don Wright and wife Patti Jo of Kenedy; daughter, Janet Wright Pratt and husband Randy of Palacios; brother, Jessie Wright of Buda; grandchildren, Kristin Schuette, Dustin Wright, Tyler Pratt, Calleigh Jo Wright and Taylor Pratt; great-grandchildren, K’Leigh Pish, Blane Schuette, Dustin Schuette, Grayson Wright, Rhett Wright and Wyatt Holbein.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
