Sister Davis was married to James Douglas Jones on March 15, 1959 and when that union was dissolved, she laver married her true love, Orvis Dewitt Davis on Aug. 5, 1970.

Sister Davis confessed her life to the Lord at an early age and was a faithful and active member of Community Baptist Church in Lockhart, Texas for over 50 years. She enjoyed serving the Lord in numerous capacities throughout the years until her death.

Cooking was a passion for her as she displayed her talents through the co-management wither spouse of the Chat-n-Chew Café. People loved to come there and enjoy her delicious meals. Her French Lemon and Sweet Potato pies were in high demand in the community and people would often stop by her house or pone to request one of her delicious pies.

All her life her employment was in cooking. Her last place of employment was at “Luling Care Center,” where she held the position of Head Cook until her retirement.

Her hobbies included visiting with family, playing dominoes and any kind of card game. She loves sports of all kind, especially football. Any time visitors came by to socialize that is where her T.V. would be on; sports.

She enjoyed the company of her sister, Reva Sattiewhite; they love discussing Church, family, soaps, sports, bingo and the lottery. There was not a day that went by that the siblings would not talk with one another on the phone. (they would often call each other at least four times a day). And Sister Davis would visit with her sister every day at her home. They were very close.
