Lady Apaches open district on Friday

The Gonzales Lady Apaches open district play on Friday, March 6 when they play at La Vernia for a 7 p.m. game. La Vernia is currently ranked first in Class 4A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Gonzales recently tied 14-14 with Poth last week and lost 14-0 against Giddings on Tuesday at home. 

Apaches remain unbeaten in district

The Gonzales Apaches boys soccer team remain unbeaten in district, beating Pleasanton 4-0 last Friday and then La Vernia 3-0 on Tuesday to move to 4-0 in District 29-4A. Behind them in the standings are Pleasanton (3-1), La Vernia (1-3) and Yoakum (0-4). The Apaches host Yoakum on Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Pleasanton on Tuesday, March 17 for a 7 p.m. game.

Lady Apaches currently in 3rd

The Gonzales Lady Apaches soccer team is currently in third place in District 29-4A after losing 6-0 to Pleasanton last Friday and 3-1 to La Vernia on Tuesday. Gonzales takes on Yoakum this Friday before hosting Pleasanton on Tuesday, March 17. Currently, Pleasanton is on top of the district at 4-0, followed by La Vernia at 3-1, Gonzales at 1-3 and Yoakum at 0-4.

Lady Mustangs blow out Runge in softball

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs beat Runge 27-4 in a non-district game on Tuesday. The Lady Mustangs are scheduled to take on East Central at home on Friday, with first pitch scheduled at 5 p.m.

Mustangs win close on the road

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs baseball team won 2-1 on the road against Weimar on Tuesday. They host a tournament this weekend before hosting Pleasanton for a non-district game on Tuesday, March 10.

Lady Eagles win home non-district bout

The Luling Lady Eagles won 9-5 at home against San Marcos Hill Country Christian in an early non-district game. Luling travels this weekend to compete in the Blanco County Tournament before returning home on Monday for a noon game against Marion.
