State-ranked Lady Eagles open district with 2 wins

The #23 Luling Lady Eagles opened District 27-3A with two impressive wins, beating Yoakum last Friday 54-42 and #6 Poth on Tuesday 51-45. Luling hosts Karnes City on Friday before traveling to Stockdale next Tuesday to continue district play.

St. Paul boys basketball win two straight

Shiner St. Paul knocked off Bulverde Bracken last Friday 44-41 before beating San Antonio St. Gerard on Tuesday 41-26.

The Cardinals host the South Austin Warriors for a non-district game before hosting San Antonio Atonement to continue district play on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Lady Cardinals come away with win

The Lady Cardinals basketball team traveled to take on Bulverde Bracken Christian, beating them 43-38. Rebecca Wagner led the team in scoring with 15 points, adding a team-leading nine rebounds, five assists and five steals to the state line. Paige Brown had 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal.

St. Paul hosts San Atonement to continue district play on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Lady Comanches win 2 straight to open district

The Shiner Lady Comanches opened district, beating Louise 45-28 last Friday and 38-27 on Tuesday. Shiner hosts Weimar this Friday then travels to Wallis to take on Brazos.

Nixon-Smiley opens district in 0-2 hole

Nixon-Smiley opened district with a 57-24 loss against Karnes City last Friday. The Lady Mustangs hosted Yoakum on Tuesday, losing 43-37 to the Bulldogs to drop to 0-2 in district play.

Nixon-Smiley (0-2) travels to Stockdale (1-1) on Friday before hosting state-ranked Poth (1-1) next Tuesday.

Mustangs on losing streak

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs are in a losing streak, losing against St. Anthony High in San Antonio 64-42 before losing on the road against Yorktown 75-36. The Mustangs travel to Stockdale this Friday to open district play, then host Poth next Tuesday.

Eagles split last two non-district games

Luling finished the non-district portion of their schedule, beating KIPP University Prep last Friday 66-64 before losing to Hondo on Tuesday 70-55. The Eagles host Karnes City this Friday to open district play before traveling to Stockdale next Tuesday.

Comanches win 2 straight

The Shiner Comanches won two straight non-district wins, beating Yoakum 45-33 last Friday and Stockdale 50-44 on Tuesday. Shiner hosts Weimar on Friday before traveling to take on Wallis Brazos next Tuesday.
