GONZALES — The Gonzales High School Athletic Booster Club received a $7,050 donation from Stork. Proceeds were generated from the first ever Apache Golf Tournament held at Independence Park on Oct. 13.

Stork is a division of Fluor, one of the largest construction companies in the world, and began working at the BYK Garamite Expansion Project in May 2018. During the project, they will have as many as 95 employees living in the Gonzales area. Work is scheduled to be completed around November 2019.

Isaac Beard, Project Manager of Stork and Autoro Nodal, Project Manager at BYK, were determined to support the local high school and came up with the idea of a golf tournament. Beard and his team received donations from their many vendors and management, Endress Hauser, Codale Electric and Gregg Industrial were the major sponsors and provided golf clubs and bags for the winning teams. Raffle tickets were also sold for more prizes valued over $5,000.

Plans for the second annual golf tournament are already in process for September 2019.
