GONZALES — Gonzales Youth Center (GYC) is all set for its annual fundraiser gala. This year's theme is "The Sky's the Limit."

The gala is set to take place from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the Gonzales Mansion and Venue.

"Anyone in attendance is sure to have a great time," GYC Director Deane Novosad. "We have so much lined up for the night."

According to Novosad there is something for everyone to enjoy, the whole night long.

"Boys Scout Troop 263 will be there with the new leader," Novosad said. "This is a troop for at risk youth and we are so proud of all they have accomplished so far and proud to have them attending the gala."

Novosad said the Crystal Theatre's Shakespeare Ninjas will also be at the gala.

"These fine young actors are going to put on an act for us," Novosad said. "They are all wonderful actors and have generously offered their time to perform for us at the gala."

Novosad promises a wonderful dinner of grilled steaks with all the trimmings, including baked potato, green beans and dessert.

"The steaks for our gala dinner were graciously donated by Graham Land and Cattle Co.," Novosad added. "We are in for a real treat."

Other donations to the gala include the Gonzales Mansion and Venue, donated by owner Chris Kappmeyer; music entertainment, donated by Tequila Black; and lots of auction items donated by businesses and community supporters, including: gift certificates, jewelry, purses and tickets to a variety of fun places, like Schlitterbahn, Splashway and Fiesta Texas.

"We have been so blessed by the generosity of so many people and businesses," Novosad said. "The gala is sure to be wonderful."

The gala would not be complete without the GYC Youth, many of which will be on hand to help with the night's festivities.

"They have volunteered to pitch in wherever they are needed," Novosad said. “These are some really great kids we are fundraising for."

The monies donated to the gala, auction monies, and any other contribution are slated for use directly benefiting GYC Youth.

"We are raising money for staffing the center, facility upkeep, activities and many programs we have for the kids," Novosad said. "We look forward to seeing each and every one of our donors and showing firsthand the work we do with our youth."

The gala starts at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. with auctions and entertainment to follow.

Gonzales Mansion and Venue is located at 1520 St. Louis Street, in Gonzales.
