Thomas Clyde Stulting

Thomas Clyde Stulting returned to our Lord on Friday, Aug. 5 at the age of 92. He was born on Aug. 20, 1923 in the Denton Creek Community of Gonzales County to Willie Clyde Stulting, Jr. and Lillian Angelyn Woodall Stulting.

He married Christina Rembs, on March 19, 1949 in the First Methodist Church of Gonzales and they made their home in Gonzales. They were married for 60 years before her passing in 2009.

Over the course of his life, Thomas was a beloved friend to many and the center of his very close knit family. He worked hard from the time he was a very young child, to help those he loved. As a teen aged boy, he began working cattle and carrying out other ranch duties. His love for the land and his work ethic carried him throughout his life as he retired at the age of 62, after a long career with Brzozowski Truck Lines and Harrell Cattle Company.

He continued to care for his own livestock, and to garden both on his country property as well as at his home in town. He was known about the community for having the most beautiful yard in Gonzales, including many flower beds he’d planted for his wife, and of course his award winning roses.

After retirement and for the rest of his life, he spent every possible moment with his family, with added focus to his grandchildren. Two of his greatest accomplishments are Colden and Cortlyn, his great grandchildren, who were influenced so strongly by this amazing man. If you knew Thomas, you could not help but have a special place in your heart for this warm, caring man.

He is survived by daughter, Linda Stulting; granddaughter, Katherine Stulting Gillett and husband Tracy; and great-grandchildren, Thomas Colden Gillett and Cortlyn Christine Gillett of Gonzales, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and son, Thomas Ray Stulting. Also preceding him were his parents and siblings, Cecelia Maude Stulting Harlow, Howard Stulting, Wayne Stulting, Lura Lucille Stulting and Doris Marie Stulting.

Funeral services are under the direction of Seydler Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Seydler Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Seydler Hill on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in the Denton Creek Cemetery.
