Timothy Lynn Stovall Sr., 60, of Gonzales, Texas departed this life to enter into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 24 in Gonzales, Texas.

Tim, as he was affectionately known, was born in Gonzales, Texas on June 24, 1958 to John Henry and Ernestine Smith Stovall. He was the youngest of five children. Tim was the surprise baby of the family. He was welcomed by his siblings especially his sister Annie. They grew up together as the inseparable gold dust twins.

Tim was raised in Webster Chapel AME church. He confessed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Lorenzo Ausbie. He was greatly influenced by the leadership of the late Pastors L.E. Tinnon, Hilry H, Jones and Dredford Shuler. Under the leadership of Pastor Cephas Martin, Tim served as an active member and was a faithful giver to the church.

Tim was a hard worker at a very young age. He would work at night and attend high school classes during the day. He graduated from Gonzales High School. He worked at Holly Farms for twelve years. Though he was successful there, Tim following after his maternal uncles longed to be like them, long haul truckers. Tim stepped out in faith and started his own business, “Stovall & Sons Trucking Company. During his course of business, he acquired 20+ long haul trucks and trailers traveling across Texas and into Mexico. He provided employment opportunities to those who needed a second chance. After 30 good years in the business, Tim’s health began to fail he had no choice but to retire in the Trucking Industry. Tim was a hard worker who loved his family and provided well for them. He enjoyed working on his fleet and attending family gatherings; family reunions, birthday parties and weddings.

Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and three brothers. He was also preceded in death by his father John Henry Stovall and granddaughter Timantha LeAnn Stovall.

He is survived by his devoted mother Ernestine Stovall of Gonzales; daughter Anissa Stovall of Austin; three sons, Timothy Stovall Jr. of Austin; Tyrone Stovall of San Antonio; and John Abel Stovall of Austin and two sisters, Carolyn Stovall-Gilbert of San Antonio and Annie Mae Wyman of San Antonio. He leaves behind nine grandchildren (Jordan, Kelsey, Rickeal, Kamerion, Timtrell, Anthony, Justin, Trianna, and Jaqualon), two great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, long term friends and mother of his children, Mary Stovall Brown and Sandra Stovall and Tim’s adopted families whom he loved and cherished; the Shelton family (Allen, Tiffany, Alandree, Tay’llen and Kaityln), the Matehuala Family (Miguel, Linda, Mike, Andy and Veronica), Dominique Taylor (Mariah, Kenya, and DeAvia) and adopted brother, Doug Hunt. Tim will be greatly missed!
