Victoria College’s Gonzales Center will host a Health Careers Information Night from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Area residents will have the opportunity to learn about training offered at VC’s Gonzales Center leading to health careers, such as nurse aide, medical assisting, medical coding, medication aide, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy and veterinary assistant. These courses can be completed in 14 weeks or less.
Information on the Gonzales Center’s Vocational Nursing Program will also be available.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in receiving training for occupations that are in high demand in our region,” said Victoria College Gonzales Center Manager Vince Ortiz. “Some of these training courses are as short as eight weeks. This is a chance for residents of Gonzales County and outlying communities to receive quality training without travelling too far from home.”
The sessions will also cover prerequisites, curriculum changes, admission requirements, estimated tuition and financial assistance.
Due to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, guests will be required to wear a facial covering, have their temperatures taken and pass a health screening before entering the classroom. Social distancing will also be required.
Victoria College’s Gonzales Center is located at 424 E. Sarah DeWitt Drive in Gonzales.
