GONZALES — Tickets for the Gonzales Inquirer’s Come and Taste It Craft Beer festival are going fast according to event organizers. With over two weeks left before the inaugural event on the weekend of April 27 and 28, VIP ticket sales are already over 50 percent sold out.

“We encourage everyone who is interested to get their tickets in advance, especially the VIP tickets,” event organizer Terry Fitzwater said. “We will be selling tickets at the gate on Saturday, but once the 150 VIP tickets are sold out for Friday night, they are gone.”

Fitzwater also announced that O.S. Grant, a famous saxophone player who played with rock and roll legend Johnny Taylor, will be playing in the VIP tent on Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m.

VIP tickets for the event are $50, and include a free night of food, wine and beer on Friday night April 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. The ticket includes a couple of beer steins and swag, and entitle the ticket holder to an exclusive hour of craft beer sampling on Saturday, April 28 before the tent opens for general admission sampling.

Shiner Beer is the presenting sponsor of the event, but Goliad, Revolver, Bells Brewery, Seguin Brewing Company, Thirsty Planet, Freetail Brewing, Blue Moon and Coors will be hosting tastings in the tent on Saturday. Tickets for Saturday only are $25 and can be purchased at the Gonzales Inquirer. There will be entertainment on the David Stewart Trucking Stage during the day on Saturday.
