Waelder announces lone finalist for superintendent

WAELDER — On July 8, school board officials announced they selected Jon C. Orozco as the district’s lone finalist for the superintendent position. Board President Dora Noyola said the board will meet on July 31 to finalize the deal.

“We have to have a 21-day waiting period before we make the decision to hire,” Noyola said. “Once we do so, Mr. Orozco would start on August 1.”

Once hired, Orozco would replace former Superintendent Daniel Fuller, who left the district on June 30 after finishing his two-year contract.
