Waelder applies for grant for new patrol car

WAELDER – City Council on Tuesday voted to apply for a grant for a patrol car for $37,000.

The grant will go through Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).

Officials said the more the city matches, the better chance they have of getting the grant. After the city gets with LCRA, they will determine how much they will match.

Councilman Mike Harris said he did not have an exact amount on the match at this time.

In other business, the council approved two new mobile home permits for applicants, and voted to advertise for its bank depository bids. The council also:

• Approved Wednesday, Dec. 14 for the Blue Santa event, which will be held at the Waelder Police Dept. at 11 a.m.

• Approved its departmental longevity pay

• Approved the minutes from its November meeting

• Approved paying of the bills and financial reports
