WAELDER — City Council postponed Tuesday night’s meeting for Tuesday, May 10 due to early voting taking place in the evenings at City Hall.

Council plans to hear an update on its Neighborhood Stabilization Program, as well as its annual summer youth program. Last year’s program was held throughout the month of June at Waelder City Park, during which students of Waelder ISD could “hang out” from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. Mayor Becky Ayala will provide updated information on the summer youth program.

The council will also discuss open projects including its park, library, clinic, budget and cleanup projects.

In addition, an executive session will be held — during which council will discuss, consider and/or act upon two-part time public works seasonal employees and rate of pay. They also plan to discuss advertising to hire a new police chief.
