Waelder to host circus next Friday

WAELDER — Thanks to the sponsorship of the Waelder New Millennium Lions Club, the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus is once again coming to town on Friday, Oct. 13 at the city park located at 700 N. 4th St.. There will be two shows - the first kicking off at 5 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m.

During the event, performers bring the magic of the circus to life in each 90-minute performance. This year’s lineup includes an all-star group of performers and entertainers, including Miss Simone and her single trapeze, Miss Paulina’s “Big & Little” prancing ponies, The Arlise Troupe on their unicycles, Natalie’s American Eskimo Escapades, the flexible Miss Georgia and several others.

Felipe Martinez, President of the New Millennium Lions Club, said the event is a must-see for everyone, and that he is looking forward to it.

“It’s a small show, but it’s very professional,” Martinez said. “The people have really enjoyed it - it’s really exciting. We have a couple of new acts this year, plus they’re going to bring out the lions and tigers as well. There’s going to be great entertainment for everyone.”

You can save money by purchasing your tickets in advance at the following locations: Lions Club Members, Crossvine Grocery and Waelder Shell. Prices for advance tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors (65 and over) and children ages 2-12, children under 2 are always admitted free.

On show day tickets will be $13 for adults and $8 for seniors and children.
