Wildcat trio named to all-region team

From unranked to fourth in all of Class 1A, the Waelder Wildcats proved the prognosticators wrong by winning the District 30-1A title without a loss. The Wildcats eventually made it through the Region IV-1A tournament, losing to #1 LaPoynor in the semifinals of that tournament.

After their efforts, three Waelder Wildcats were recognized to the Region IV-1A team. Jacovan Fields (3), Isaiah Jones-Miller (1) and Colby Thorne (35) were all named to the all-region team.

All-district team and all-state team honors will be announced at a later day.
