The Gonzales City Council will meet to discuss several agenda items, one of which is a public hearing regarding recommendation to rezone a tract of land from R-1 Residential to R-2 Residential. This meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Gonzales Municipal Building at 820 St. Joseph Street.

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed three directors to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Board (GBRA). Vice Chair Don Meador of Hays County, Director William Carbonara of DeWitt County and Director Steve Ehrig of Gonzales County were reappointed to serve on the GBRA board until 2025.

Gonzales ISD has recently been approved to shift from operating the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program (NSBP/NSLP) to the Seamless Summer Program (SSO) starting Nov. 2, 2020, through June 30, 2021. Meals will continue to be served during school days and are free for all students attending Gonzales ISD. SSO also allows the district to provide free breakfast and lunch meals during school days to families in the community who have children 18 years old and under who are not attending school.
