2020 voter guide

In January, the Gonzales Inquirer editorial staff asked to hear from the people who are both currently and are seeking to represent you at the county, state and national levels. All of these candidates will be on the ballot on the March 3 primary elections. We asked these candidates:

  • Who are you?
  • What are your values?
  • Why do you want to hold, or continue to hold, the office you are seeking?
  • What do you want to accomplish in office?
  • How do you intend to accomplish those goals?

Below are the answers we received from candidates in the 25th Judicial District Judge, Texas House District 17 and U.S. House District 34 races. All essays were written by the campaign.

U.S. House District 34:

Texas House District 17

25th Judicial District Judge

We did not receive profiles from the following candidates: Jacqueline Phillips Ott (R), 25th Judicial District Judge; John Cyrier (R), Texas House District 17; Filemon Vela (D), U.S. House District 34, Osbert Haro III (D), U.S. House District 34; Rey Gonzales (R), U.S. House District 34 and Rod Lingsch (R), U.S. House District 34.

The essays were edited for grammar and formatting, but the messaging was largely left intact. These are the last profiles we received.
