2021 Gonzales County Hay Show announced

Hay producers who have baled hay in Gonzales County during the past year are invited to participate in the 2021 Gonzales County Hay Show.

Entries for the Hay Show need to be delivered to the Gonzales County Extension Office by Friday, October 15, 2021.

The Show will be held on Thursday, October 28, at the PACE Building located at 623 Fair Street, on the east side of the Gonzales ISD Elementary Building in Gonzales. A supper will be held at 6:00 P.M. An educational program on hay quality and a Fall pasture management update will be conducted by Dwight Sexton, Gonzales County Extension Agent. One (1) continuing education unit (CEU) for private, non-commercial, and commercial pesticide license holders will be provided.

Producers participating in the Hay Show will obtain a free nutrient analysis on the hay they enter. There are six classes of hay for the show which producers can enter samples in, which include: Bermuda grass, Other Warm Season Perennial Grasses, Warm Season Annual Grasses, Cool Season Grasses, Legumes, Grass-Legume mixture.
