In the last week, the number of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Gonzales County has more than doubled. DSHS data shows that 1,036 people have received at least the first dose of the two-shot Moderna vaccine, with 289 receiving their second dose, as of Thursday, Feb. 4. A week before, only 99 had been fully vaccinated.

GySgt. Bryan Maurice “Gunny” Robinson USMC, ret., passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021. He was born Jan. 27, 1948 In Fredericksburg, Texas to Bryan J. and Willie B. Fluitt Robinson. He married Seretta Kay Byrd on May 29, 1992 in Goliad, Texas.
Private family graveside services will be held with full military honors at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The Gonzales City Council will meet for a Special Called meeting at 12 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4 in the Gonzales Municipal Building to revisit proposed amendments to the city charter. These amendments were brought for discussion at the previous meeting, and the council will take a vote of whether to order a Special Election for the purpose of adoption or rejection of these amendments.

After weeks of planning and awaiting the arrival of more Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses, Gonzales County, Gonzales Healthcare Systems and the Department of State Health Services are partnering to host a mass vaccination clinic on Thursday, Feb.4, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at J.B.
