Abelardo R. Ibarra Sr.

Abelardo R. Ibarra, Sr., 87, of Waelder, Tx passed away on March 21, 2023.  He was born to Domingo and Crescencia Rodriguez Ibarra. 

Abelardo is survived by Gloria Ibarra - wife; Gloria Sirilo - daughter; Dora Noyola (Freddie) - daughter; Abelardo Ibarra, Jr. - son; Carol Ibarra - daughter; Adan Ibarra (fiance’, Crystal) - son; Mary Esparza – sister; Maria Almaraz – sister; Susan Castro – sister; Linda Cedillo - sister; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Abelardo is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters and son-in-law, Salvador Sirilo, Jr. 

A visitation for Abelardo will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Tx from 4-7 PM followed by a rosary being recited at 7 PM.  A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder, Tx at 10 AM, officiated by Father Paul Raaz.  Burial will be in Waelder Community Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers are Dylan Ibarra, Dominick Sirilo, Devlin Cedillo, Caleb Ibarra, Christopher Sirilo and Reyes Valdez, III.  Honorary pallbearers are David Ibarra Jr, Freddie Noyola, Andrew Esparza, Amador Alvarado, Nick Tovar, Jerry Alvarado, Roque Hernandez and Benny Camarillo.
