Agnes Ann Benedict

Agnes Ann Benedict went to be with the Lord on Oct. 22, 2020. She was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Del Rio Texas, to Clara and Joseph A Wurz. Agnes was the second to the oldest of eight children. She married her long-time sweetheart James Paul Benedict on September 19, 1948. They started their life together in El Paso TX.

Agnes retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 30 years and continued to work and contribute to her community. While living in the Gonzales County area, she was heavily involved in the Belmont Ladies Club, Belmont Fire Department fundraiser, County Extension Club, Gonzales Camera Club and many other civic organizations.

Agnes loved her family, cooking, and a good joke. She is survived by her loving family; her husband of 72 years, her brother William Douglas Wurz and wife Ginger, her son; Hank Benedict and wife Dawn, her daughter; LouAnn Norton and husband Butch, Granddaughters; Kody Campbell, Kari Gothard and husband Shane, Natalie Land and husband Gordon, Christina Benedict and Grandson Anthony Benedict. Great Grandchildren; Rebecca Bender, Cole Harris, Tyler Wright, Jake Wright, Darla Campbell, Patrick and Michael Benedict. And one Great Great Granddaughter; Haysleigh Jo Wright. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 25 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Followed by grave side service at 3 p.m. in Belmont Cemetery with Chaplain Jeremy Roy officiating. Pallbearers: Tyler Wright, Jake Wright, Butch Norton, Shane Gothard, Anthony Benedict, and Gordon Land. Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, and graveside service. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
