On Feb. 12, 2021 Anita Kone Salziger, beloved wife of Roy Salziger for 70 years, and mother of four passed away at Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi following a fall at home the previous evening, at age 93.

Anita was born in Gonzales, Texas, May 24, 1927 and the dairy farm house where she grew up still stands on Waelder Highway just outside of town. She was the youngest child of Harry and Frances Kone.

Anita went to Southwest Texas State Teachers College (now Texas State University) in 1947 where she met Roy Salziger of San Antonio. They were the perfect match and married Mar. 3, 1950 in Gonzales. She worked as secretary to the Dean at San Marcos Academy where Roy taught, and in 1952 Roy joined the Air Force. They had two sons and two daughters who have been grateful their entire lives for having the best mother anybody ever had.

Anita was preceded in death by her sister Sara Jane Wilkes and brother Rodney Kone. She is survived by her husband; her sons, Mark Salziger and Kurt Salziger; daughters, Donna Salziger and Carol Collingwood; granddaughter Lori Collingwood; grandson Mark Collingwood and his wife, Ying; and two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Michelle Collingwood.

A service is set at noon Monday, Feb. 22 at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio and a second service at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi will be scheduled later that week.
