Apaches and Mustangs baseball teams open Bi-District playoff series on Friday

The baseball teams from Gonzales and Nixon-Smiley High School conclude their respectve district slates and are now set for the Bi-District round of the UIL playoffs. 

• In 4A, Gonzales faces Canyon Lake in a rare home-and-home best-of-three playoff. Game one is at Gonzales at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 7. Games 2 and 3 (if needed) are Saturday, May 8 at Canyon Lake starting at 1 p.m.

• In 3A, the Mustangs face Blanco at Marion High School. Game 1 and 2 are Friday, May 7 starting at 4:30 p.m. Game 3, if needed, will be Saturday, May 9.
