Apaches travel to Hondo for tournament, finishing fifth

The Gonzales Apaches traveled to Hondo Thursday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 7, for their first tournament of the 2024-25 season, finishing in fifth place.

The Apaches went 2-2 in the Hondo tournament, beating host Hondo, 61-44, and won the fifth place game, 66-25, on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Gonzales fell to Kerrville-Tivy, 78-27, and fell to the Cibolo Steele JV, 65-46.

The Apaches improved to 5-5 on the season.

Gonzales went back on the road to San Antonio for a game against the state-ranked Cole Cougars Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The Apaches will go back on the road for their second tournament of the season at Geronimo Navarro, where they’ll take on Hallettsville, Davenport and Marion in the tournament.

Gonzales will return home for a game against the Navarro Panthers at the Apache Auxiliary Gym Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The Navarro game tips off at 6:30 p.m.
