Armando Esparza Sr.

Armando Esparza Sr., age 62, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Armando was born December 4, 1958 in Gonzales, Texas to Concepcion Esparza and Casimiro Esparza.

Armando graduated from Gonzales High School and soon after entered the work force. Throughout his life, Armando had several jobs. His last being Southern Clay Products, where he worked for many years. When not working, he enjoyed barbecues, watching the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family. He was well known for his joking manner and great sense of humor. In his younger days, he was a wonderful dancer.

Armando is survived by sons: Armando Esparza, Jr. of Austin, Texas; and Jason Esparza of San Antonio, Texas; brothers: Casimiro Esparza of Gonzales, Texas, and Freddy Esparza of Gonzales, Texas; sisters: Mary Esparza of Gonzales, Texas, Natalia Eureste of Gonzales, Texas, Guadalupe Esparza of Fort Worth, Texas and Connie Olmos of Fort Worth, Texas.

Armando was preceded in death by father: Casimiro Esparza; mother: Concepcion Esparza; sisters: Candelaria Olmos and Rosalinda Esparza; brothers: Angel Esparza, Ray Esparza, Ruben Esparza, Joe Esparza, Jesse Esparza, Thomas Esparza and Ascencion Esparza.

Mr. Esparza also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

A visitation for Armando will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Buffington Funeral Home, 424 Saint Peter St, Gonzales, Texas. Followed by a rosary at 6:30 p.m., at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, corner of College and Saint Lawrence streets in Gonzales, Texas. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Corner of St. Andrew & Seydler St., Gonzales, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Esparza, Marcos Olmos, Joey Esparza, Matthew Eureste, George Molina and Johnny Molina.

Funeral Services were under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home Gonzales.
