BASKETBALL: Mustangs make Comfort uncomfortable with 65-37 blowout

Nixon-Smiley made the Comfort Bobcats very uncomfortable as the Mustangs took out their frustrations from an earlier loss in the day in a 65-37 win Tuesday night.

The Mustangs (13-2) followed up a 45-41 loss to Navarro by blasting Comfort in the last game of the night at the Nixon-Smiley Tournament. The host team was led by Brayden Martinez, who scored 20 points to lead all scorers, while Carl White Jr. had 14 points in his second varsity appearance since being brought up from the JV.

Dustin Mejia had 12 points, while Jeremiah Munoz and Braxton Regalado each scored five. Holden Canion had four points, Sebastian Ortiz and Ryan Paez had two points and David Abundis had one point.

The Mustangs were to play Sacred Heart at 10:30 a.m. and Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29.
