The donations come out at night, at least they did for Norma’s House at the ninth annual Bingo, Bags, and Badges event at JB Wells Expo Center this past Friday, April 8.

Deane Novosad, executive director, stated “Wow! What a fantastic event! We at Norma's House so appreciate everyone who came out to Bingo, Bags and Badges to support us. We had a great crowd. We couldn't do what we do to serve the children of Gonzales and Lavaca counties without the community's overwhelming support. Thank you!

“And a huge thank you should also go out to all the volunteers, board members, law enforcement officers of Gonzales Police Department and Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Gonzales Fire Department for their assistance in making our event such a huge success!”

A wonderful time was had by all in attendance, with an engaged community crowd and exceptional first responders stepping up to model the merchandise. Multiple designer purses were donated to the event by many generous local business and community members. The winning bingo winners were called out by guest emcee Egon Barthels, Lavaca County Emergency Management Director, who provided a lively event for all guests.

Per Novosad the event raised over $55,000, a record amount for BBB / Norma’s House, with a sold-out event and multiple donations throughout the night.
