Bonifacio Martinez, Jr.,

Bonifacio Martinez, Jr., 74, of Gonzales, died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his residence.  A lifelong resident of Gonzales, Bonifacio was a retired mechanic with Firestone.

Bonifacio proudly served in the National Guard.  Bonifacio enjoyed watching football, tinkering around with vehicles, and spending time with his family.  Bonifacio was a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Lulac in Gonzales. 

Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales.  A rosary will be said for Mr. Martinez at 9:30 am Saturday, the 19th at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am at Saint James Catholic Church. The interment of the urn will occur at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery, following the Mass.

Bonifacio was preceded in death by his parents, Bonifacio and Juanita Guajardo Martinez, Sr., and his brother, Nick Martinez. 

 Bonifacio is survived by his son Michael Martinez, his daughter Rhonda Martinez both of Victoria, TX., brothers, Rudy Martinez, Ernie Martinez, and Freddie Martinez all of Gonzales, and Tony Martinez of Petersberg, TX., sisters, Elisa De Los Santos of Luling, TX., Elsie Martinez, Mary Ornelas, Jane Padilla, and Paula Martinez all of Gonzales, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Bonifacio will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
