Bridgett Smith was born February 18, 1972, in Gonzales, Texas, to Fred Smith Sr. and Merle Smith.
She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1992. She worked for many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Her last employer was the Texan Nursing and Rehab of Gonzales, Texas.
Bridgett accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Robert Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Smith, Sr., and Merle Smith. Five brothers: Robert Smith, Kenneth Smith, Sr., Bryant Smith Sr., Berry Smith, and Gregory Smith. Grandparents, James and Gorgie Smith, Henry and Phylis Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Zachary Mitchell Sr., Kiondra Miller, and Kadezha Miller. Thirteen grandchildren, Zakiya Mitchell, Zalen Mitchell, Kazlyn Meyer, London Mayo, Kayden Miller, Royalty Cantu, Kataleya Miller, Legacy Miller, Chyna Miller, Major Mayo, Zydasia Mitchell, Genesis Biaz, and Zachary Mitchell, Jr. Four brothers, Fred Smith, Jr. (Melba), James Smith, Sr., Steven Smith Sr. ( Linda), and David Hunt. Six Sisters: Ruby Tucy (David), Joycelyn Jones, Sharon Redmond, Donna Timmons, Stephanie Grant (Russel), and Kimberly Smith (Nathan). Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a special friend, Pastor Margo Johnson.
Bridgett will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kind heart, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
