Brush, junk pickup discontinued in Nixon

Starting Oct. 1, 2022, the City of Nixon will no longer pick-up junk (rubbish) or brush. The residents of Nixon may take one load of junk (rubbish) to the dump on Friday and one on Saturday free of charge.

Residents of Nixon may take as many loads of brush to the dump as needed free of charge.

City of Nixon will continue to pick up brush and junk/rubbish for the elderly. You must call City Hall at 830-582-1924 or 830-582-1611 to make arrangements for pickup. Fees will be the same as previously.

There are new requirements to use the city dump starting Oct. 1 as well. All city of Nixon residents will be required to show a current water utility bill with picture identification before unloading.

If building material is to be dumped, a copy of a building permit or demolition permit must be presented before material can be unloaded.
